Martins on way to PNG

Bill and Lenore Martin have left Dallas and are on their way back to PNG. “It will actually take three weeks for us to reach PNG this time,” says Bill, “since we will be stopping in Southern California, Chicago, Boston, England, and Singapore, on our way back to PNG.” They will arrive in PNG June 25th.

Spring Classes a Success

Bill and Lenore report that they have completed their Spring classes at Mountain View College successfully. “It was a stretch, but very rewarding,” reports Lenore. When they return to Dallas in August, they will both continue their studies; Lenore in Urban Education Bilingual/ESL, and Bill in Software Development.

Dedication Plans Moving Ahead

Reports from PNG indicate the plans for the July 27th dedication of the Lindrou New Testament are progressing on schedule. The Bible Translation Association has chartered a ship to take 80+ people the 300 miles from the mainland of PNG to Manus Island to attend the dedication. Ten airplane trips are booked between Ukarumpa and Manus. Charles Kowak is coordinating the planning on Manus, and other families are helping with logistics from Ukarumpa and other locations around PNG. It will be the first New Testament completed by national translators in Manus Province, PNG.

Praise Items: Prayer Items:
ž Praise the Lord that Lenore has successfully completed her first semester at Mountain View College. Bill also completed his C++ programming course and has decided to take additional programming courses in the Fall. o Pray that Lenore and Bill will be able to register for their Fall semester courses over the internet, since they will not be in Dallas during advance student registration in June.
ž Praise the Lord that Bill’s left shoulder has responded well to the special exercises, and is now “better than normal.” o Pray for good health and safety as Bill and Lenore travel more than 30,000 miles in the next three months, traveling by road, air, and boat.
ž Praise the Lord that the Lindrou people are eager to get their New Testaments, and are planning the largest single event to ever happen in their midst - the dedication of the arrival of God’s Word in their heart language. o Pray that the dedication will bring great honor to God and His Word, and that the Lindrou people will commit themselves to the regular reading of His Word in their homes, churches and community schools.

We thank the Lord for your prayers and standing with us!
In his care

Bill and Lenore Martin
