Our first 2 Grandkids arrive two weeks apart

Although we have anticipated the arrival of Jason and Anne’s new baby for months, we were surprised to hear that Joel and Rebecca were suddenly presented with the opportunity of adopting a newborn baby in early October around the due date that Jason and Anne were expecting. First, Joel and Rebecca adopted a little girl Maribella (Mari) Mae Martin who was born 5-6 weeks premature on October 7th. She was 5 pounds 7 ounces at birth.

27 March 2011 – a month after surgery.

Mari is doing well and came home after about 10 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Baylor University Medical Center.

A few days later we were able to celebrate again when Jason and Anne had their son Torin William Martin who was born with the assistance of two midwives at 9 pounds even and two weeks past due date on October 21st. The day Jason and Anne were at the birthing center, I was driving home from a shopping trip when I had an urge to pray out loud for them. Although I didn’t know it until later, that urge must have come from the Spirit of God, because it was right at the same time that Torin was being born and as he experienced a sudden drop in heart rate that could have sent them to a hospital ER. But with the help of God’s chosen midwives and PRAYER, the crisis was averted and Torin was born naturally.

Torin William Martin – born October 21st 2011

Lenore is cancer free after 6 months of chemotherapy

After colon cancer was discovered on February 1st, and surgery was performed on February 28th Lenore underwent 6 months of chemotherapy which ended at the end of September. Lenore’s oncologist reported that a CT-Scan showed that the colon cancer was all gone! She will need follow-up scans in the months and years to come, but we are rejoicing for the Lord’s healing care that He has accomplished in and through skilled medical people. See photos documenting the chemotherapy process on the following pages.

New version 6 of Adapt It Released

The Adapt It team was finally able to release version 6 of Adapt It on October 24th. We are in the process of doing triage for some software bugs that were discovered after the initial release.

We thank you so much for your letters and emails of encouragement. Lenore wants to respond to every email and letter that we’ve received, but the neuropathy in her fingers makes it too painful to write or type on the computer at present. Please pray that the Lord will alleviate and heal the neuropathy in her fingers and feet.

Your coworkers in God's Kingdom,

“And God is able to give you more than you need, so that you will always have all you need for yourselves and more than enough for every good cause. (2 Corinthians 9:8).
