Last year we did not have an opportunity to take a vacation due to Lenore’s cancer surgery and chemo treatment schedule. As we were considering planning a vacation this May to celebrate our 41st anniversary (8th), Mother’s Day (13th), and Lenore’s birthday (18th), we got an invitation to attend an all-expenses-paid 5-day Wycliffe Stateside Connections program at our headquarters in Orlando Florida. So we planned our vacation to piggyback on the Connections program.

We enjoyed the Connections program very much. It was a good time of sharing, giving appreciation and encouragement.
The connections staff took us on our first air boat ride around an alligator occupied lake. Our vacation time also included a visit to the Epcot Center and the Holy Land Experience. On our way back home to Texas we took a little detour north to visit friends in Fort Mill South Carolina and in Waxhaw North Carolina.
We praise the Lord that Lenore’s March health screening continued to show no evidence of any cancer. Her CT scan screenings will now be 6 months apart – the next one in September – one year after the completion of chemotherapy.
