Adapt It developments

The Adapt It team has been busy. The mobile version 1.1.0 of Adapt It was released for Android and IOS devices in January 2019. Then, the team released the desktop version 6.9.3 of Adapt It at the end of February 2019. I am currently working on some improvements to the program’s many “faces” (interface) to make the Windows, Linux and Apple Mac versions of Adapt It appear more natural for users of Adapt It on those systems.

As a Bible translation drafting tool, Adapt It has been assisting national translators for almost 20 years in various areas around the world, helping them to adapt translations into their own mother tongue. Many translations have been drafted in just 3-5 years. Recently the Adapt It team received an encouraging note from a translation field coordinator who told the team,

...BTW, cheers to you all! We have now finished adapting the New Testament in 4/5 projects. The 5th is still adapting and the other 4 are now editing/checking in Paratext. Adapt It has been an awesome blessing!”

Charles receives 55 Proclaimers for distribution among the Nyindrou churches

During the first week of February Charles Kowak traveled from Manus Island to PNG’s capital city of Port Moresby to meet a representative of the Faith Comes By Hearing (FBCH) organization, to receive 55 hand-carried Proclaimers (portable digital players) containing the audio recording of the entire Nyindrou New Testament.

The Nyindrou New Testament printed volumes that were dedicated back in 2002 have been out of print for several years. Last year, Charles made arrangements with FBCH to send a recording specialist out to Manus Island in late 2018, during which time a team of Nyindrou men and women recorded the entire Nyindrou New Testament in digital audio form.

Pray for Charles and the other church leaders who are planning a dedication of this recording of God’s Word in their own heart language. May the hearing of His Word lead many more Nyindrou people to faith in the Lord Jesus in the years to come!

Grandchild number 8 due next month!

Jason and Anne are expecting a baby girl next month in April. Their kids, especially Kaya, are all looking forward to having a new sister. Lenore and I - as well as most of our extended family - have battled bronchitis for several weeks since early December. Pray for good health for the whole family, especially for Jason and Anne, that the delivery and birth will go really well.

We thank you for your prayers, partnership and encouragement.

Your servants in His grace,

“And God is able to give you more than you need, so that you will always have all you need for yourselves and more than enough for every good cause. (2 Corinthians 9:8).

Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.” (Psalm 127:3)
