Martins' Memos Partnership Update

Dallas

Texas, USA

June 18, 1996

Dear Friends,

God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8

Two months ago we shared with you information about our financial situation and asked you to stand with us in prayer as we trusted God for the support needed to return to Papua New Guinea. We are excited to report that the Lord has been answering your prayers! During the last two months our average monthly support has risen to 85% of our monthly support needs. Moreover, we now have 100% of our air fare promised!

The chart above gives a graphical update on the current status of our financial needs.

After much prayer and discussion with our leaders, we have decided to extend our furlough time for two more months. This will give us more time to raise our monthly support and the remaining funds needed for shipping and various projects. This change in plans will also allow us to be here in Dallas with Joel until he returns to Taylor University for his Sophomore year in the Fall. Our target date for return to Papua New Guinea is now September 10th.

One of the things we have been asking of the Lord is to raise up additional prayer and financial partners. Enclosed with this update is a partnership brochure and prayer reminder. If you wish to become a prayer or financial partner with us, please use the postage paid envelope supplied with the brochure. If you are already a partner with us, please feel free to pass it on to anyone you feel might be interested in becoming a partner with us.

Again we want to thank you for your interest in this work. Thank you also for standing with us in prayer regarding our remaining financial needs. Praise the Lord with us for the way He is moving to meet our needs as we prepare to return to Papua New Guinea!

LATE BREAKING NEWS 6/17/96: Raymond Rising has been released after being held hostage for more than two years in Colombia! Praise the Lord with us!

In his abounding grace,
